Christmas & new year closure dates
Read more →Wow, the end of the year is upon us already! It sneaks up on us every year. Our last day for 2024 will be 19 December, and we will be closed until our return on Monday 13 January. To ensure you have sufficient stock over the Christmas break, we recommend getting your orders in as soon as possible. The courier services are already working over time with the Christmas rush, so there could be an increased likelihood of delays. Read more →As I write today's blog, the weather in Sydney has warmed up. It's a sunny 22 degrees, which is not too hot yet, but with the combination of wind, it can spell disaster for a screed. The repellent effect of Efflock means that if a screed loses its gauging water/ construction moisture in evaporative conditions, it cannot be 'watered back in'. Moisture curing tiling is important - especially in hot weather!
Read more →The hot weather is thankfully little bit late this year, but the hot weather in Sydney yesterday is a timely reminder to provide shade and moisture curing to your tiling. We know that the optimal temperature for curing concrete is about 22 degrees. If shade is not provided, the surface temperature of a screed or tile can quickly exceed 50 degrees. Mortar needs to cure, not to bake. Tilers don't need to bake either! The other obvious risk of not providing shade, is the loss of hydration.
